8. November 2007 - Neubau der Umgehungsstrasse CV-95 / Kreisverkehr CV-95 – Abzweigung nach San Miguel
Am 8. November 2007 fand im Rathaus ein Treffen zwischen dem Bürgermeister Angel Saez Huertas, Stadtrat Sergio Correas Ferrer, dem Präsidenten der Urbanisation Balcon de la Costa Blanca – Neil Burman und der Präsidentin der Nachbarschaftsvereinigung Asociacion de Vecinos por San Miguel – Fr. Jose Coast Medrano statt.
Der Zweck dieser Versammlung war die Information über die geplante Entschärfung des Unfallschwerpunkts : Abbiegung von der CV-95 links nach San Miguel de Salinas / Balcon de la Costa Blanca.
Bei dieser „ T „ – Abbiegung nach San Miguel kam es in der Vergangenheit immer wieder zu schweren, teils tödlichen Unfällen. Die Policia Local und die Guardia Civil stufen diese Abbiegung als großen Gefahrenpunkt ein, da die Geschwindigkeit des Gegenverkehrs aus Richtung Orihuela kommend nach Los Balcones für Linksabbieger aus Los Balkones kommend mit Fahrtrichtung San Miguel sehr schwer einzuschätzen ist. Aus diesen Gründen geschahen in der Vergangenheit immer wieder schwere, teils tödliche, Unfälle. |

Nach einer Untersuchung der „ Terretorial Commisson of Townplaning „ am 11.Mai 2007 wurde Seitens der Gemeide der Bau eines Kreisverkehrs ( siehe Plan ) beschlossen.
Zur Zeit werden weitere Verkehrsbeobachtungen durchgeführt, um dieses Konzept zu optimieren ( pf 11.11.07 )

The report states the following:
At present, the access from the CV-95 in direction
of Orihuela and the Casco Urbano of San Miguel of Salinas and to the Urbanization Balcón de la Costa Blanca, is regular by an access in "T" delimited by means of horizontal signposting.
Vehicular traffic at this point is very dense and, according to the reports of the Local Police and of the Civil Guard, is a an access
point that has a high accident. |

The report continues:
In the same way, this
Town Hall has found dealing with the General Plan of town planning, that was approved by the Territorial Commission of Town planning of May 11, 2007, to expenses of presenting a
'Texto Refundido'. In they said document of General Plan is foreseen for that access the construction of a
ROUNDABOUT. (as shown on the plan - left).
Before such circumstances, and in order to
resolve these problems, the Consellería is urged to study and
evaluate the possibility to proceed to the ACCESS ROUNDABOUT construction
with The CASCO URBANO OF SAN MIGUEL AND TO THE
URBANIZATION BALCON OF THE WHITE COAST SINCE THE CV-95, as well as the adoption of the possible alternative solutions that could be carried out by that Autonomous, in order to alleviate the situation and to obtain an access but insurance for said zone.

gain permission to start this work as a municipal work
rather than wait for any alterations to The CV95 - The
time scale for this work is expected to be two years.

- La Diputación de Alicante
has awarded a grant to The Administration of SMdS for a
new 'Auditorio de Verano' in La Plaza Jaime 1, in the
vicinity of The Casa Cultura. The cost of the project
amounts to 359,622.08 Є of which
a 60% grant will be met by La Diputación
and the work will be completed by 2009....
