Welcome to our page dedicated to
the
Town Hall of San Miguel de Salinas.
Following the
election of 27th May 2007 the details of the Concejalías or Councillors
that make up the administration of San Miguel de
Salinas together with the different departments and personnel over which they preside
has altered.This is our first group photo of
our new councillors, courtesy of
Louise Clarke RTN. At the
constitutional ceremony on Saturday 16 June all
were sworn in to act faithfully as members of
the New Council for San Miguel de Salinas. |

Our
current Mayor, Alcaldía Ángel Sáez Huertas,
operates an 'open-door' policy to all those
living in The Municipality of San Miguel de
Salinas and hence his co-operation in providing
this important information in this format. The Mayor, regardless of his politics
or whether we agree or disagree with anything
his administration has or has not done, has at
least endeavoured to be open and willing to provide information to this website; it is a fairly new concept for Spanish Administrations to understand the new requirements that 'the people' have for information...the internet and this website is equally a new concept and this website
is extremely grateful for his counsel. |

| About our current Council - San Miguel de Salinas has an elected council of
thirteen members. In the last election on 27 May
2007 our new Mayor, Alcaldía Ángel Sáez Huertas of the Partido
Popular (PP), which is equivalent to the
Conservatives in the UK, was re-elected for
a second term of office. The
system of proportionate representation
operates here in Spain and after the
majority is established the remaining
councillors are elected according to the
number of votes cast. On this occasion there
resulted a ruling administration consisting of
9 members
of the PP, 2 members of the Partido Socialista Obrero Español (PSOE),
2 members of Izquierda Unida. The
remainder of this page is due for an update when
the Councillorships are announced. |
